Cultural Investment & Strategy

We are an evidence-led cultural investment and strategy advisory. We work with organisations to balance technological progress with the human element, using cultural investment strategies across the arts and cultural ecosystem. We inform policy and develop tools to integrate cultural investment into sustainable organisational decision-making.

Why we do this

Keeping the human dimension present in a tech-driven world

As technology, particularly AI, accelerates the way organisations operate, create and scale, the human dimension risks becoming an afterthought. Cultural investment in the arts and public cultural life strengthens identity, builds relevance beyond commercial activity, and creates enduring value in the form of cultural capital and legacy, positioning organisations as active contributors to the human–technology ecosystem.

Culture and technology in dialogue

What we do

Our work focuses on three core areas that bring structure and value to cultural investment, enabling organisations to make informed decisions about where and how they direct investment into arts and cultural life in a fast-moving tech and AI environment.

Area 1

Cultural Investment Strategy & Roadmap

We help organisations define clear cultural investment strategies that sit alongside technology and capital decisions. This includes identifying priority themes, selecting types of cultural initiatives (such as activations, art collections, programs or festivals) and building a roadmap for investment.

Area 2

Policy & Government Alignment

We are multi-sectoral, informing policy on how cultural investment and technology activity intersect and keeping our partners up to date on a rapidly changing cultural and technological landscape. This includes framing positions, preparing submissions and designing engagement approaches for inquiries, consultations and partnerships with government and public bodies.

Area 3

Culture-Led ESG (S/G) Design & Reporting

We develop the social and governance aspects of ESG and corporate reporting that relate to culture, AI and public life to help organisations demonstrate alignment with emerging local and international expectations for safe, human-centred and rights-respecting AI. We do this by defining and mapping organisations' cultural investment in arts and culture in public life, mapping their arts and cultural footprint in society and its relationship to their technology and AI activity, and reporting the associated initiatives and indicators into existing frameworks.

Strategic cultural investment in practice

How we do this

Turning strategy into cultural investment in practice

We work with organisations to build a picture of their technology investment, strategic objectives, constraints and existing activity in culture, society and public life. We use data and sector insights to inform our three offerings, developing strategy into practical cultural investment roadmaps, policy positions and engagement frameworks, and culture-led ESG (S/G) indicators and disclosure content that can be used in decision-making over time.

Intarsia (n.)

Born from ancient human craft and elevated during the Renaissance, intarsia integrates contrasting materials into precise recesses to create a unified, polished surface. Its mastery lies in how each piece is selected and positioned to support the whole. It reflects our approach of inlaying culture into the arc of technological development, enabling organisations to balance rapid technological investment with the opportunity to contribute to the cultural landscape and define their legacy.
